CAT 2022 Updates:

IIM Bodh Gaya CAT 2022 Cut off will be released for MBA admission 2023-25 academic year. Admission into the management program at IIM Bodh Gaya is granted based on the Common Admission Process (CAP 2022) and the counseling process.

  • The PA round consists of a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). Where WAT scores are not available, the weight of PI will be 30%.
  • The final merit list is prepared based on CAT 2022 cut off and performance in the personal interview and profile score.
  • In addition, the final merit list is dependent on a few other factors as well like the total number of candidates who have applied for admission, the difficulty level of the exam, previous year’s cutoff trends, work experience, academic diversity, and gender.

IIM Body Gaya CAT 2022 Cut off & Selection Process

IIM Bodh Gaya admission process consists of the following steps:

  • CAT score
  • Based on cut-off criteria, shortlisted candidates for the Personal Appearance (PA) process.
  • Conducting the PA process
  • The PA process is divided into two sub-process - Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
  • When no WAT is available, the weight of PI will be 30%.
  • The Final Merit List is prepared based on CAT score, WAT & PI score, and Profile score.

Stage 2: Criteria for Preparing the Merit List

The criteria for preparing the merit list will be as follows:

  • CAT Score: 40%
  • Personal Appearance (WAT & PI): 30%
    • Written Ability Test (WAT): 10%
    • Personal Interview (PI): 20% – In case, WAT is not conducted then 30% weightage will be allocated to PI.

Academic Profile

For calculating the academic profile score, IIM Bodh Gaya takes into consideration the total performance in Classes 10, 12, and graduation. Students with more than 60% scores in this category are considered.

If ‘x%’ is the marks secured by a candidate, the following formula is used to determine the academic profile at IIM Bodh Gaya

The cut-off for 2018 IIM Bodh Gaya was slightly different from the previous year's. For General category candidates the overall percentile was less than that in 2017. However, the overall and sectional percentile for candidates belonging to the ST and DAP categories was significantly lower as compared with last year.

The overall and sectional percentile for the year 2017 was marked with a major improvement. When the overall percentile for the general category dropped from 96 to 90, the overall percentile has improved for candidates belonging to other groups.

In terms of the IIM Bodh Gaya cut off, there is a negligible change in the overall percentile for general category candidates IIM Bodh Gaya cut-off fell from 78.98 to 77.5 for OBC and SC candidates, and from 63 to 59. However, a significant change was observed for ST and DAP candidates, and the overall cutoff decreased from 50.71 to 40 and 50.71 to 40 respectively.

IIM Bodh Gaya CAT Cutoff 2015

  • CAT's 2015 examination pattern was different from the present paper pattern. Earlier, there were only two sections of the CAT examination - quantitative ability and data interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning. 
  • The general category sectional cut-off was 80 and the overall percentile was 96.30. The sectional cut-off was 61.43 for the NC-OBC candidates, and the overall cut-off was 78.98 in 2015.
  • We can see therefore that the cut-off for IIM Bodh Gaya CAT differs from year to year as it depends on many factors.

IIM Bodh Gaya Eligibility Criteria

Aspiring candidates who are willing to reserve a seat for the MBA program at IIM Bodh Gaya must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates complete their bachelor's degree with an aggregate of 50 percent marks or a CGPA equivalent (45 percent marks for candidates from SC / ST / PwD).
  • Candidates who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board must receive a Bachelor's degree or equivalent that spans a period of at least three years.
  • For candidates receiving grades or CGPA in the place of marks, the equivalent will be decided based on the equivalence recognized by the institute/university from which the applicant obtained a Bachelor's degree. For institutes having no specific scheme for converting CGPA into marks, IIM Bodh Gaya will devise its equivalent marking scheme by dividing the total CGPA obtained by the highest possible CGPA and multiplying the answer by 100.
  • Candidates who are in their final year of Bachelor's degree or any other equivalent examination, or who have appeared for their final year examination and are awaiting results may also apply.
  • Apart from academic qualifications, applicants must clear the CAT and achieve the minimum desired score in the entrance test to be considered eligible for admission.
  • Working professionals with full-time work experience of at least 6 months are offered weightage during the preparation of the final merit list.

IIM Bodh Gaya Application Process

The following are the important details regarding the application process for admission to the IIM Bodh Gaya MBA program -

  • Candidates opting for the MBA program at IIM Bodh Gaya must register themselves on the CAT official website.
  • The application fee for the year 2022 was INR 1,900 (Categories of SC/ST had to pay INR 950).
  • There is no separate process and application fee to apply for admission to IIM Bodh Gaya.
  • Admissions to IIM Bodh Gaya would be solely based on the results of the CAT and cut-off criteria.

IIM Bodh Gaya CAT Admission Process

  • Step 1 - Candidates must appear for the CAT entrance and score the minimum percentile required.
  • Step 2 – Final merit list is prepared based on CAT score followed by WAT and PI screening (known as Personal Appearance) and candidates satisfying the required eligibility criteria for admission here.
  • Step 3 - The final selection is based on several factors including CAT performance, WAT and PI results, academic, co-curricular and extracurricular accomplishments, and work experience.
  • Step 4 – Candidates are offered final admission based on the Final Composite Score (FCS) which grants 40 percent weightage to the CAT score, 30% weightage to Personal Appearance (PA) - 20 percent weightage to the PI round's score + 10 percent weightage to the WAT score, and 30% weightage to the profile score – 12% weightage to academics + 6 percent weightage to the work experience + 12 percent weightage for diversity.

IIM Bodh Gaya Offer Acceptance Fee and Withdrawal

  • Candidates receiving an offer of admission from IIM Bodh Gaya must accept the offer within the specified time by sending an Offer Acceptance letter and submitting an acceptance amount of INR 50,000. If any candidate wishes to retract the offer within the specified withdrawal date, the Offer Acceptance Amount will be refunded after deducting INR 1,000 as processing fees.
  • Candidates requesting withdrawal after the date specified by the Institute would receive no refund. No refund of Offer Acceptance Amount and Term Fee is done by the Institute in the event of departure from the program after registration.

IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Fees

The admission fee for the 2020-22 batch in IIM Bodh Gaya Postgraduate Programme is given below. It may be noted that the fee can be revised at any time.

  • Total fees was INR 10,70,000 for the two-year MBA program of 2020-22.
  • The fee is INR 5,35,000 per year (2020-21 and 2021-22).
  • The admission fee does not include personal expenses.
