CAT 2026 Latest Update: Correction Window Closed

The CAT 2026 correction window closed on 6 October at 5 PM. It opened on 5 October at 10 AM for successfully registered candidates who had paid the examination fee. The permitted changes were photograph, signature and test state/city preferences.

The 29 September notice announced this edit window. It did not reopen registration or permit a general rewrite of academic, identity or category information. The CAT correction guide explains those field limits.

As of 9 October, the next scheduled candidate-document step is admit-card download in November. The exam remains scheduled for 29 November; closure of the correction facility does not change the examination date.

Upcoming CAT 2026 Dates

The admit card supplies the candidate's actual venue and session. Applicants selected city preferences, not their exam shift. A preferred city name is not a substitute for the assigned test-centre address.

Registration and Payment: What Changed?

The initial registration deadline was 15 September. The later extension made 22 September at 5 PM the final registration deadline. The following payment notice allowed only already-registered candidates to finish paying by 24 September at 5 PM.

These deadlines apply to different actions. A headline saying registration lasted until 24 September would be misleading because new applications were not covered by the payment-only extension. The CAT application guide distinguishes registration, final submission and confirmation.

Which Form Details Could Be Corrected?

The facility was limited to candidates with successful registration and fee payment. It was not a late-payment window. Category certification, qualifying marks and document claims remain subject to the applicable eligibility and admission requirements.

A candidate with an application-processing problem can use the grievance facility, but a ticket does not by itself unlock a closed field. Keep the submitted application and the exact issue available when contacting support.

Before Admit Cards and the Exam

Retain access to the registered email and candidate account. Password recovery sends the reset information to the registered email. After the card is released, compare the printed details, venue and session with your own records before arranging travel.

CAT uses separate section timers: the standard paper has 40 minutes each for VARC, DILR and QA, with no transfer of time between sections. Use complete timed practice alongside the official interface mock rather than treating the mock as a syllabus prediction.

Candidates needing an essential restricted item for medical or other strictly unavoidable reasons must request authorisation with supporting documents and the admit card. Approval must be shown at the centre; screening still applies.
