CAT 2026 Official Mock Test Date

The official CAT mock link is scheduled for 12 November 2026. The test itself is on 29 November. The mock provides practice with the examination interface; the official FAQ describes its questions as illustrative.

When the link opens on the CAT portal, read its instructions before starting. Practise moving between questions within a section, selecting MCQ responses and entering numerical answers. The mock's sample questions do not establish the final 2026 question count or difficulty.

The CAT exam pattern gives the current test rules. Keep the official interface exercise separate from a coaching provider's full-length score benchmark.

CAT Mock Timing and Marking

A standard full-length simulation should keep VARC, DILR and QA in that order, with 40 minutes for each. Time cannot be shifted from one section to another.

The PwBD allowance is 40 additional minutes across the test, divided equally. It is not 20 extra minutes in every section.

The on-screen calculator is permitted in CAT; a personal calculator is not. A practice test that allows free section switching or unlimited calculator access outside the interface trains a different set of conditions.

Try a Short Original Practice Set

The practice panel contains three original two-question sets. VARC uses a short survey passage, DILR uses overlapping attendance groups, and QA tests average speed and integer boundaries. Choose one set, answer and submit to see the explanations.

• Official interface mock: Navigation and response entry. Illustrative questions.
• Full-length preparation mock: All three timed sections. Provider-created test.
• Sectional test: One section and its time limit. Narrower performance sample.
• Original drills below: Two questions in a selected skill set. Untimed practice accuracy.

If questions are blank, submission asks for confirmation. Results separate correct, incorrect and unanswered responses. Retry mistakes keeps missed items for the next attempt; Restart set restores the whole set.

These drills are untimed and deliberately short. Their percentage is accuracy within the selected set, not a CAT percentile. For a full timed attempt, choose a complete three-section mock or a dated paper with its year-specific structure.

Analyse a Mock Beyond the Total

Original score example: 15 correct answers, 5 wrong MCQs and 3 wrong typed answers produce 15 x 3 - 5 = 40 raw marks. Attempt accuracy is 15 / 23, or about 65.2%. Marks and accuracy measure different things; neither number alone establishes a percentile.

Reattempt skipped questions before opening their solutions. That reveals whether they were beyond your knowledge or simply overlooked during selection. For a wrong RC answer, identify the unsupported word or claim. For DILR, locate the first invalid case. For QA, check the setup, units and domain before the arithmetic.

CAT Papers for Longer Practice

Choose a subject paper for a sectional session and a complete paper for the full sequence. Keep year and slot attached to the file and any answer key.

• VARC papers and original practice: Passages and verbal tasks.
• DILR papers and original practice: Linked sets and data conditions.
• Quant papers and original practice: Mixed mathematical methods.
• CAT paper archive: Choose the examination year and slot.

The 2025 papers had 24 VARC, 22 DILR and 22 QA questions. Those historical counts can describe a 2025 paper accurately; they should not be relabelled as a confirmed 2026 structure.

Short drills can isolate a skill, while longer papers test selection among unrelated questions. Use both for their own purpose rather than comparing their percentages as though they were equivalent tests.
