How to Log In to CAT 2026

Open iimcat.ac.in and select Registered Candidate Login. Enter the CAT 2026 User ID and password, complete the displayed captcha where asked and sign in. The registered-candidate route is different from the New Candidate Registration option used earlier in the application period.

• Open Registered Candidate Login on the CAT website.
• Enter the User ID and current password.
• Complete the displayed verification and sign in.
• Open the required application, download or grievance tab.

New registration closed on 22 September; having access to the login page does not mean a new application can still be submitted. The saved CAT application remains available to registered applicants.

Forgot CAT User ID or Password

Select Forgot User ID/Password on the login page. Enter the email address used for CAT registration and the captcha. The recovered credentials or regenerated password are sent to that registered email address.

A regenerated password is not sent by SMS. Check the registered mailbox and spam folder rather than waiting for a new text message. An initial registration password and a later regenerated password are not the same event; use the current credentials after recovery.

Do not create a new registration to solve a forgotten-password problem. The CAT 2026 registration window has closed, and account recovery is the relevant route for an existing application.

What Can You Access After Login?

The application summary lets you see what was actually submitted. The Download Application tab supplies a copy; it is not an edit function. The correction facility covered only selected fields during its announced window.

The CAT admit card is downloaded through the candidate account, not delivered by post. The official FAQ schedules access from 4 November at 5 PM. A working login on an earlier date does not mean the admit card has been released.

Registration Credentials vs Completed Application

During registration, applicants provided a valid unique email address and mobile number and verified the mobile number using an OTP. The system generated the login credentials. Overseas candidates received both credentials through their registered email address.

That completed the account-registration step, not the whole CAT application. Applicants still had to complete the six form sections and pay the fee. Successful submission produced a Payment Transaction Number and confirmation by email/SMS.

This matters if you can log in but cannot find a submitted application: a User ID alone does not establish that the fee and form were completed. The payment confirmation details explain which records identify a successful transaction.

CAT Login Problems and Helpdesk

If you can sign in, use the Grievance tab for an application, upload or payment issue. Select the plus button to create a ticket, describe the error and attach up to three relevant files. Keep the User ID and any payment reference available. The guide asks for at least two working days for a response.

If login itself is failing after credential recovery, contact the technical candidate helpdesk. The academic helpdesk is for eligibility, category and PwBD certificates, not account access or payment processing.

There is no need to send your password or OTP with a screenshot of the problem. The User ID and error message identify the account issue without sharing those credentials.
